We are a husband and wife team and share the same love for hobbies, crafts and the importance of taking a break from screens and electronics.

We had an epiphany while making our weekly “date trips” to the “Hobb Lobb” (Hobby Lobby). Yes, we’re regulars and spend way too much money there. We thought how amazing it would be to find a place that offers multiple options for crafts and not just painting something? A place where people can try out something new without the commitment of buying and storing all the supplies.

Although those places are great and we have spent a lot of time doing that, realistically, there’s only one option. Painting!

So, what started as a dream, turned into reality and District 13 was created. Our goal is to create a safe and relaxing place for people to come in and let their ideas run wild, without expectations, without judgment and where the only rule we have is, THERE ARE NO RULES!

From quirky home décor to wow-worthy gifts, every item is lovingly put together by hand and all of our plaster projects are hand poured by us in small batches! As with anything hand made there will be slight imperfections but, that’s what makes each of them unique.

Our studio is intentionally decorated with playful flair. Expect bright hues, fun textures, and a happy dash of surprise in each creation—because crafting should feel like a mini celebration!
